Adventure Sports Instruction

asilogoAdventure Sports Instruction is currently focused on Rock and Trail experiences and is facilitated through the Adventure Sports Institute at Garrett College. The programs below are all 'instruction' based, and provide a great introduction to the activity as well as full recreational experience.

Programs
ASCI Bike Tour –
This introductory bike tour includes 90 minutes of instruction on basic bike riding techniques and an informational tour of the ASCI whitewater course. The tour ends with 30 minutes of free-ride time around the whitewater course. This is the perfect tour for family and friends who want to catch a glimpse, and maybe some photos, of the rafting trips!

Backcountry Bike Trip – The intermediate bike tour is designed to take beginning riders to the next level of mountain bike riding. This tour includes instruction on advanced riding techniques and 5 miles of intermediate riding terrain from ASCI to the Fork Run Recreation Area. A shuttle back to ASCI is provided.

Rock Climbing & Rappelling – This program provides participants the opportunity to learn about basic climbing movements, rock climbing & rappelling equipment, and climbing safety. Climbing programs can be tailored to almost all individual goals and ability levels.

Geocaching - Geocaching is a sport that consists of locating a box, or cache, with the help of a GPS (Geospatial Position System) unit, coordinates, and your own wilderness travelling skills. It can be as easy as finding a box under a log at the side of a path, or as hard as having to reach a cache hidden halfway up a rock face – it’s all about the experience you want to have
